About Ellen Sofie Øgaard

You've built success. But there's a ceiling.

It's not about strategy or effort. It's about what's happening beneath the surface.

High-achieving women who come to me have already done the inner work.

They've journaled, meditated, gone to therapy. They're self-aware. And still — something holds them back.

Visibility feels uncomfortable. Success brings anxiety instead of ease. Receiving — compliments, money, recognition — triggers an impulse to shrink or deflect. There's a quiet voice that says: this won't last. You're not quite enough. Stay small.

This is not a mindset problem.

These are subconscious patterns — formed early, held in the body — that no amount of positive thinking will shift. I work with women who are ready to go deeper.

Why I do this work

For years, I built things. A startup. A social enterprise. A career leading strategy across some of Norway's most complex organisations.

I knew how to perform. I knew how to lead. And I kept hitting a ceiling I couldn't name.

When my startup failed to secure the investment I'd worked years toward, I could have blamed the market, the timing, the pitch. But something made me look inward instead. What I found changed everything.

I discovered a pattern that had been running beneath my life for as long as I could remember — a deep, inherited sense of rejection. My father felt rejected by his father. His father before him. And without ever being conscious of it, my subconscious had made rejection familiar. Expected. Safe. I was projecting it, seeking it, expecting it — in investors, in relationships, in every room I walked into.

There was something else, too. As a child, I had a strong voice. Clear, expressive, alive. Through emotional neglect and the gradual punishment of being too much, that voice was silenced. I learned to dim. To stay small. To take up less space.

I went into inner child healing for my own sake — not as a career strategy, but because I needed it.

What happened in that process gave me more than I had words for. And as my own transformation unfolded, I found myself getting certified — not as a plan, but because I couldn't stop going deeper. When I began working with clients, I witnessed the same quality of shift in them that I had experienced in myself.

That is what this work is.

My professional background is unusual for this space

Before founding Naturebeings, I spent years in leadership, strategy, and business. As a Strategic Sustainability Advisor, I led strategy and communication initiatives across the Norwegian private and public sector. As a startup founder, I navigated the pressure of building something from nothing. As a leadership facilitator with Agnus Consulting, I guided corporate leaders through deep reflective processes on how they lead and how they want to live.

I also co-founded She=precious — a social enterprise that raised approximately NOK 5 million and supported education for over 200 girls in Nepal, later acquired by Strømme Foundation. For this work, I received the Women Shape the World Award.

I hold a BBA from BI Norwegian Business School and an MSc in Corporate Environmental Management from the University of Surrey.

I know the world my clients live in. The stakes, the pressure, the identity that gets built around achievement. I'm not theorising about what it's like to be a high-performing woman navigating success and self-sabotage. I know it from the inside.

My philosophy

Most approaches to success say the same thing, in different ways: push harder. Do more. Override your resistance.

My work starts from a different premise.

You cannot expand beyond what feels emotionally safe to hold.

Success, visibility, income, leadership — these aren't blocked by a lack of strategy or effort. They are limited by the ceiling of your nervous system's safety threshold. Your subconscious will quietly protect you from anything that exceeds what it has learned to hold — no matter how consciously ready you are.

This is emotional safety as success capacity.

It's why accomplished, intelligent women hit invisible walls. Not because they lack drive. But because their internal capacity hasn't expanded to match their ambitions. The gap isn't strategic. It's subconscious.

When emotional safety expands, everything else follows.

Not forced.
Not performed.
Not pushed through.

The self-sabotage dissolves. The visibility fear loosens. Receiving becomes possible. Expansion becomes the natural state — not the ongoing struggle.

This is what the work creates; not more motivation, not more strategy. A nervous system that finally feels safe holding more.

I work with women who:

  • Are high-achieving but quietly held back by self-sabotage or fear of visibility

  • Feel like they're performing success rather than inhabiting it

  • Know something subconscious is at play — but haven't been able to shift it

  • Have done significant personal development work and are ready to go deeper

  • Are ready to invest seriously in their transformation

My approach

My sessions go deep — into the subconscious patterns that are quietly running the show.

Using the Compassion Key® method and somatic inner child work, we locate the original emotional charge behind your pattern and release it at the root. The result is a shift that feels different from anything insight-based — not because we bypassed the work, but because we went to the right level of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is inner child healing?
Inner child healing focuses on releasing subconscious emotional patterns formed in early life — often before you had language to understand them. These imprints are stored in the nervous system and continue to influence how you experience success, visibility, and relationships today.

What is the Compassion Key® method?
The Compassion Key® is a gentle subconscious healing approach that works directly with stored emotional charges at their root. Rather than talking about your patterns or trying to think your way out of them, we use compassion and presence to dissolve the underlying charge. As the charge releases, patterns like self-sabotage, fear of visibility, and difficulty receiving naturally shift.

How is this different from therapy or coaching?
This work sits at the intersection of subconscious healing, somatic work, and transformational mentoring. Unlike therapy, we are not focused on diagnosing or processing the past through conversation. Unlike coaching, we are not primarily working with goals and accountability. We go directly to the subconscious patterns driving self-sabotage — rather than only working at the level of mindset or strategy.

What does a session look like?
Sessions are conducted online via video call, 90 minutes each. We begin with a brief check-in, then move into the subconscious healing work. Most clients feel a noticeable shift within or immediately after the session.

How many sessions do I need?
The Expansion Reset is a 10-week private container — 10 sessions, 90 minutes each. This structure is intentional. Deep patterns don't release in one sitting; they unwind in layers, with the right conditions.

Do I need previous experience with inner work?
No. Many clients come with years of personal development behind them — and some come with very little. What matters most is your readiness and genuine desire to shift what's been holding you back.

Is this therapy?
No. This is not therapy and Ellen is not a licensed therapist. The Compassion Key® method is a somatic and subconscious healing modality. If you are currently experiencing acute mental health challenges, please work with a licensed mental health professional.

What results can I expect?
Clients commonly experience: a felt sense of inner safety and calm they hadn't known before; reduced anxiety around visibility and receiving; decreased self-sabotage; increased ease in taking action; and a more grounded relationship with their own success.

How do I know if I'm ready?
If you've been working on yourself for some time and keep hitting the same ceiling — despite insight, effort, and self-awareness — you're likely ready. If you feel called to this work, that's usually a signal worth listening to.
